Our parents had careers, we have jobs, our kids will have gigs. As the way we work evolves, building solutions that empower workers in the on-demand economy is necessary. We set out to research a mobile first way for young entry level workers to find, apply, manage on-demand jobs.
Solution
Re-imagining the way entry level workers interact with their local jobs market is a challenge and a great opportunity. Showup is a mobile first way to find local jobs, track hours, get paid and access built in incentives such as Bonus and Perks.
Through the Showup mobile app, users can find work opportunities nearby and easily apply. Once hired, they can check-in, check out their hours and get paid right into their bank account.
To incentivize the worker’s experience in the on-demand economy, we came up with the concept of built-in universal benefits: With every job worked regardless of the company, a worker will receive a 2% bonus pay and receive perks such as Premium Spotify, Netflix, Appstore credits, Amazon prime membership and the list goes on. We believe the best way forward in the on-demand gig economy is to build the best experience for its workforce.
